CANDLES:
Muddy Mermaid of Maine's coconut blend wax natural candles are individually hand-poured in small batches. Coconut wax is eco-friendly and burns slow and clean for a Mer-mazing experience. To get the best experience out of your candles, please read and follow the proper burn and safety tips below - including using a wick dipper instead of blowing out to avoid smoke and keep the room smelling like the candle! We hope you enjoy your experience with us!
- Trim your wick to 1/8 - 1/4 inch before each and every burn to prevent soot and large flames. This is the most important step to a long and clean burning candle. You can trim your wick with a wick trimmer, nail clippers, or pinch the burned tip off with tweezers/fingers if you do not have a trimmer or nail clippers.
- If your candle produces smoke - the wick needs to be trimmed.
- First burn - burn for 3-4 hours on your first burn to create an even melt pool and to allow for continued even melts on future burns.
- Extinguish your candle with a wick dipper or snuffer vs. blowing out to avoid smoke.
- Extinguish your candle if it smokes or the flame becomes too high. This can be an indication that the wick is too long. Let candle cool, trim wick, and check for drafts before relighting.
- Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Always burn within sight.
- Keep away from children, pets & flammable objects.
- Keep candles free of debris including wick trimmings, dust, and matches.
- Only burn on level fire-resistant surfaces.
- Stop use when only 1/4 inch of wax remains.
- Allow candle to cool completely before handling - glass and tins get hot.
WICKLESS CANDLES:
- Wickless candles are container candles without the wick. To use, simply remove lid and place on a candle warmer.
- Be sure to remove all packaging including lid.
- Decorations will sink to the bottom when melted. Feel free to remove them prior to melting if you prefer.
- Turn warmer off once room is filled with fragrance. Wait until container has fully cooled and wax has re-hardened before handling.
- Use on heat resistant and level surfaces.
- Use only on candle warmers that are UL listed electric warmers approved for wax melts.
- Read and follow all instructions provided with your warmer before use.
- Do not leave candle unattended.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not add water.
- Do not melt on stove top or in non-approved appliances.
- Use only in well ventilated areas away from flammable materials.
- Do not use for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
- Never move your wax warmer while using as it will be hot and may burn you.
- Wickless candles can be reused until no fragrance remains.
WAX MELTS:
- Remove all packaging before use.
- Break off 1-2 cubes and place on the dish of your wax melt warmer. Do not overfill the dish.
- As the tea-light or electric warmer begins to heat up, the wax will start melting and release fragrance. Wax melts can be reused until no fragrance remains. When this happens, remove wax by heating warmer for a minute or two - just until it slightly melts at bottom and release from the dish by gently sliding the wax out of the dish with a paper towel. Wash hands afterward.
- Use only in tea-light warmers or UL listed electric warmers approved for wax melts.
- Use on heat resistant and level surfaces.
- Read and follow all instructions provided with your warmer before use.
- Do not leave warmer unattended while in use.
- Discontinue use if dish contains less than 1/2" of wax.
